Minimal interiors are the hardest to get right. With little decoration to hide behind, everything rests on proportion, material and the quality of a joint. The signature suites we fitted out at the Tivoli residences in Muscat Hills lean fully into that discipline — warm neutrals, honest materials and just enough colour to bring the rooms to life.
A palette with one accent
The suites run on a base of sand, oak and warm white, grounded by large-format stone flooring. Against that calm backdrop, a single deep-teal accent — the bed runner, the cushions — does all the emotional work. One considered colour in a restrained room reads as far more luxurious than a dozen competing ones.
Joinery as architecture
In a minimal space the walls become the design. Full-height oak panelling, an upholstered headboard wall and flush wardrobe joinery were fabricated in our own workshop and installed to fine, consistent shadow gaps. Concealed cove lighting washes the panelling and softens the ceiling line, so the room feels wrapped rather than boxed.
Living, dining and kitchen as one room
The open-plan living areas had to flow without feeling like a corridor. We zoned them with rugs, a sculptural stone-topped island and a run of bespoke cabinetry that hides the everyday clutter of a serviced residence. The result is a space that photographs clean and, more importantly, lives clean for the guest.
Warm minimalism isn’t about taking things away until a room is bare. It’s about spending the budget where it shows — on materials, light and craftsmanship — and having the confidence to stop there.
