Choose materials for movement
Timber and veneers expand and contract with humidity. We specify engineered substrates and acclimatise joinery on site before installation, so panels and cabinetry stay flat and joints stay tight through the seasons.
Protect the finishes
Salt air is unforgiving on hardware and metalwork. Stainless and powder-coated fixings, sealed edges and marine-grade adhesives cost a little more up front and save an expensive callback later. On surfaces, we favour finishes that can be cleaned rather than ones that merely look clean on day one.
Design for the air conditioning
Interiors here live inside a constant battle between cooled indoor air and fierce outdoor heat. Detailing for condensation, sensible material transitions and good sub-floor ventilation keeps spaces healthy and stops the slow damage that never shows up in a render.
None of this is visible in the finished room — and that is the point. Durability is a craft decision made long before anyone sees the space.
